The unedited podcast transcript for this episode of the Get Sculpted podcast follows:

[Jordanna] Happy New Year and welcome back to the Get Sculpted podcast. I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and you're ready to go after an amazing 2025. Today we're going to be diving into goal setting, vision crafting, and actionable steps to become your 2.0 self—fit, energized, and thriving in every area of your life.

Truthfully, this is something I love to do every single New Year. We sit down and set our vision as a family and create actual vision boards on paper. I love it because it gives you an opportunity to connect with people you love, create visions with one another, elevate your visions with one another, and be inspired by one another.

I think this is so important when we start to think about our fitness and our overall well-being as women, as entrepreneurs, or just as working moms in our 30s and beyond. It’s a great opportunity for us to think about the future and how we can make that actionable in the present. So I just want to say hi, girls.

A New Year and Celebrations

[Tijana] Happy New Year. Happy New Year and happy birthday to my baby Lucas, because I think this episode is dropping on his birthday. His birthday gets forgotten because it's the day after New Year’s Day. So, you know, I figured a little shout out—he would appreciate it even though he's like five, but he's going to love it.

[Jordanna] He's going to love it.

[Tijana] He's going to be like, "Mommy, are you talking about me?"

[Jordanna] Happy birthday, Lucas. We love you. Thank you.

Overview of Today’s Topic: Vision and Goal Setting

[Jordanna] Today we're actually going to dive into all things vision setting and goal setting. The three of us have some really good commonalities in how we like to goal set, but we also have some unique perspectives that I think, as you listen, you're going to pick up on what works for you and maybe discover some new ways of looking at it.

We’re going to separate things into basically three parts today: Vision setting Goal setting Turning your ideas into action

Because that's really what we want to do. For most of you, that is actually the missing key—how to make what you want a reality. So Merrick, can you start us off with how you look at vision setting? What does it mean to define your 2.0 self? What do you do?

Defining Your 2.0 Self

[Marilynn] Okay. I actually love, love, love vision setting because I think it's such an important step. I really believe you can't become the best version of yourself without first knowing what that vision is—what that person looks like. We want to start with the end in mind. To all our listeners, we want you to take a moment to picture yourself as your future self. Not just physical changes—yes, we know those are coming, and they are important—but also how you feel mentally, emotionally, and how you show up for yourself every single day.

Visualization Exercise

[Marilynn] Let's do a quick visualization exercise. If you can do this now, great. If not, bookmark it for later. If you’re in a space where you can close your eyes (not if you're driving!), do it now. Imagine it’s a brand-new morning and you’ve just woken up as this 2.0 version of yourself. What does that feel like? Maybe you wake up feeling rested and excited for the day. Picture your morning routine. Maybe you start with a workout, have a nourishing breakfast, and move through your morning with purpose. You feel strong, capable, and excited. Now, think about your energy and mood for the rest of the day. How do you show up for the people in your life? What choices do you make that align with this version of you? This vision is inside you. The only thing missing is you taking action.

Crafting Your Vision Statement

[Marilynn] Next, turn this vision into something real. Write down three words that describe your 2.0 self. For me, those words are calm, focused, and confident. Girls, what about you?

[Jordanna] My words are energized, empowered, and strong.

[Tijana] My words are clear, calm, and assertive.

Creating a Personal Mantra

[Marilynn] Now take your three words and create a vision statement that reflects these qualities in your life. Write it down, say it out loud, and keep it somewhere you’ll see it every day. Post-it notes, phone alarms, voice memos—use whatever works for you. The idea is to remind yourself of who you’re becoming and why it matters, especially on hard days.

[Tijana] You can also record it as a voice note and listen to it each day during your workout or morning routine.

[Jordanna] We write messages on our bathroom mirrors with whiteboard markers. Find what works for you.

Moving from Vision to Goal Setting

[Marilynn] Now that we have a vision, how do we turn it into tangible goals?

[Tijana] A goal without a plan is just a wish. That’s where the SMART framework comes in.

Using the SMART Framework

[Tijana] SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. This framework helps you move from vague aspirations like “I want to be fit” to a clear pathway, like “I will train three times a week and walk 10K steps daily for 12 weeks.” It’s also essential to know your “why.” Understanding why you want these goals helps you stay committed.

[Jordanna] Focus on behavior-based goals rather than just outcome-based goals. Instead of focusing only on losing 20 pounds, focus on the habits that will get you there.

Setting Examples of Goals

[Tijana] Let’s give some examples. Pick a fitness goal, a family goal, and a business/career goal.

[Tijana’s Goals] Fitness: Lift a total of 1,000 pounds across certain lifts. Family: A quarterly family vacation to create more experiences. Business: Add 100 new members to our community to impact more women positively.

[Jordanna’s Goals] Fitness: Focus more on performance-based PRs instead of just weight loss. Family: One date night a month with my husband. Business: Help 100 new women in 2025, impacting health and fitness on a larger scale.

[Marilynn’s Goals] Fitness: Four workouts per week and 10K steps daily, non-negotiable. Family: One big family dinner every month with the entire extended family. Business: At least one in-person community event every month and surpass last year’s charitable contribution.

Turning Vision Into Action

[Jordanna] Now we need to take action. Consistency is key, but it’s about small steps that add up. Don’t try to overhaul your life overnight. Identify the obstacles and find workarounds.

[Tijana] Time struggles? Find small pockets of the day to move. Motivation issues? Lean into community. Fear of failure? Work with a coach who can show you the proven path.

Importance of Community and Accountability

[Marilynn] Why do it alone? Community and support can help you stay accountable and motivated. Our Get Sculpted Client Club community is always there to celebrate your wins and help you through challenges.

Overcoming Fear of Failure

[Jordanna] If you fear failure, remember that past attempts didn’t have the right guidance or support. This is the year to do it differently. Embrace coaching or strategies that have a track record of success. Make this the last time you start over.

Key Takeaways

Your 2.0 self isn’t created overnight, but every step counts. Define your vision and pick a few words that embody it. Set SMART goals and focus on behavior-based, measurable habits. Start small—choose one or two actions this week. Lean into community, support, and professional guidance if needed.

[Jordanna] You have the tools, the vision, and the power to become your best self. Let’s make it happen together this year.
